Behind every successful store on Offiro, there’s a story — and often, it starts with something deeply personal. We spoke with Amanda Keller, the creator of HeroFlames.com, to learn how her idea grew from  a family passion into  a thriving online brand.

Q: What inspired you to start HeroFlames.com?

Amanda:
My husband is  a firefighter, and  to our kids — and honestly, to me too — he’s a real-life superhero. Our home has always been full of little helmets, toy trucks, and drawings of fire engines. The kids and their friends look up  to him so much, and I realized that this pride runs deep in every firefighter family.

I wanted to create something that would celebrate that — something that lets first responders wear their pride. HeroFlames.com became my way of saying “thank you” to all the men and women who serve and protect our communities.

Q: How did you build your brand? Was it your first business experience?

Amanda:
I had some marketing experience before, but this was the first time I tried to build something completely on my own. At first, I approached it  like  a side project — designing, writing, testing ads — just doing what I knew. But soon it became much more personal.

My neighbors found out about  it  and started supporting me. My husband and his colleagues began wearing the shirts and spreading the word. Word-of-mouth worked better than any campaign I’d planned. Before I knew it, HeroFlames wasn’t just a brand — it became a small community.

Q: Were you happy with  the results? What changed for you after  the store’s success?

Amanda:
The growth was amazing — it took off faster than I imagined. Orders started coming in  from all over  the country, and I realized I had built something truly special. It felt great to see how much people connected with  the message behind HeroFlames.

After  a while, though, my life started shifting in new directions. My husband got promoted, our kids grew older, and I wanted to spend more time with my family and start a few new creative projects. That’s when I decided it was time to pass HeroFlames on  to someone who could continue its growth. Selling it  to Offiro felt like  the right next step, because I wanted the brand to keep evolving with  the right team behind it.

Q: Offiro has since upgraded and automated many aspects of  the store. Be honest — do you ever regret your decision?

Amanda:
You know, sometimes I think, “Wow, I wish these tools existed back when I was doing everything manually!” Maybe things could have been even smoother. But I don’t regret my decision.

What matters to me is seeing HeroFlames continue to thrive. Knowing that it’s running better than ever — that feels like success to me, even if I’m no longer the one behind  the dashboard.

Q: What would you like  to say to  the store’s future owner?

Amanda:
Please take good care of it. HeroFlames was my first big project, and I poured my heart into every product and every campaign. It represents real people and real pride.

Now, with all the improvements and automation Offiro added, I truly believe you can take it even further than I did. I’ll be cheering from  the sidelines — proudly, like  a firefighter’s wife always does.
